Please open the door with the key, "Shugyo". "Shugyo" is not English but Japanese .It means a kind of strict discipline, moral- training, character-building, and so on. Today, it is said that in ancient days in Japan, the moral was good all over the country,till the early days of Meiji era. But The World War 2 devastated our land, especially our traditional good moral. About a half century has passed, Japan is one of the most economic, rich countries, but our moral level is more and more declining to the terrible, miserable level. This note is constituted four chapters CHAPTER 1. Devastation of Japanese moral CHAPTER 2. Transition of Education CHAPTER 3. Religion and Moral of the world CHAPTER 4. Invitation to the Shugyo Shugyo is composed of six items. Shugyo of " Love" , "Commandment" , "Endurance" , "Encouragement" ," Courtesy" , "Supreme Wisdom". 1. It is Love to do others what you would have them do to you. 2. Commandment is the basic rule of the human society. Don't kill. Don't rob. Don't hurt others. 3. Endure unreasonable insult for you, wrong temptation, severe surroundings, and then you have patient, strong mind. 4. Encouragement is powerful energy for every effort, and is accompanied with strong will. 5. The basic principle of the Courtesy is mutual respect. Courtesy enters from external deed, and reaches to internal mind. 6. Supreme Wisdom is the light in the darkness, which teaches us the right way to go. One old proverb says, "The more a man has, the more he desires". On the other hand, it would be able to say, "The more a man does Shugyo,the more he will be satisfied. Two or three thousand years ago, it was reportedly said that "give birth, increase population, fill the earth with human beings". At that era, the earth was supposed to have infinite large scale, no man found the earth as satellite of the Sun. The popuration was 25 hundred million in 1952. After only 45 years, the popuration increased rapidly to 56 hundred million. If this tendency were going on, many green area would be changed into desert, energy resouces would be robbed by strong countries, deadful struggle for existence would escalate into various lands. Present day, our human beings are crew of the space shuttle, named the earth. We must live together closely, though our shoulders are perhaps pushing other man's shoulders each other gently, carefully like in the overcrowded train. It is necessary to build common moral, common virtue in the world, still keeping their traditional life style and religious foundation. Please open the door with the key, Shugyo, and you will find the way to the beautiful satellite, named the earth. And then there will be warm heart, clear mind like the pellucid sky in personal situation. Finally, in social situation, there will be no terrorism, no retaliatory, military attacks, and then there will be peaceful, happy life on all over the world. Thank you for your attention. |
