I have been to England many times, but I'd never been to America. Probably because I thought that America was a very dangerous place according to the news, or partly because I like historical places such as castles and palaces, so America wasn't so appealing. However, I had actually only wanted to visit Seattle. You know, Seattle is the place where "Sleepless in Seattle" was filmed. It means that Sam Baldwin, who continued to love his wife even some years after her death, lived there. Moreover, I like the film, "Singles", In the film, Matt Dillon sang a song in front of Jimmy Hendrix's tomb playing the guitar. One more thing, I heard that the famous drama, "Twin Peaks" is set in a village near Seattle. "Ah, I want to eat that cherry pie!" Moreover, now, we can't forget Ichiro!! Oh! So many reasons--my desires to visit increased. "Oh, Seattle must be such a wonderful city!"

The first day :
The North West flight from Narita to Seattle departed more than 1 hour behind schedule, so we arrived at Seattle at 10:15. After that, we picked up our luggage, got into a shuttle bus and arrived at our hotel at around 1 o'clock. We were late, so we thought that happily, we could already check into the hotel, but check-in time was from 3 o'clock. Therefore, firstly, we had a BLT at some kind of restaurant next to the hotel. Then, we walked around the city and finally checked in. After that, we went to Waterfront and saw the Pike Place Market. There were many flower shops, greengrocers and so on. The market had a very active atmosphere. Around from the market, we took a street car and got off at the final stop. We saw a stadium. We began to walk towards the Safeco Field although we hadn't planed. The stadium seemed to be very close, but we couldn't get to it easily even though we walked a lot. However, when we finally arrived there, we found out that it wasn't the Safeco Field. Actually, it was a football stadium under construction next to the Safeco Field. I heard that the stadium would be named "Microsoft Dome". Therefore, we had to walk more. We were going to see the baseball game the day after, but we decided to see The Mariners goods shop next to the stadium to buy somethings because we were already there. However, they said that we couldn't enter the shop witout the day's tickets. "Oh, really?" So, we have no choice but to buy the goods tomorrow..."

<The first line>left １ : the scenery of the city. We can see the Space Needle behind ; the middle : buildings in the city. The buildings whose walls are painted are interesting ; right : I heard that this was the first Starbucks shop. There seems to be many stylish cafes in Seattle.
