この気迫、この余裕。百年あとで聴いてもきっと大感激するだろう。
②「C. Mingus Presents Mingus」（Candid）
ミンガス、ドルフィーの不適なる面構え。これぞキンタマを持った奴のジャズである。
③「Blossom Dearie : Give him the Ooh La La」（Verve）
お茶目でキュートで少しセレブな貴女よ。ニーナ・シモンの唄など雌ゴリラの咆哮じゃ。」
とあり、また『ジャズ・レコード・ブック』には
「（続く）」
とあります。
私はFontana時代の演奏も好きです。
FontanaにはオーケストラをバックにうたったCDが二枚あります。
そのうちの一枚「That's Just the Way I Want to Be」に入っている
「Yesterday when I was Young」
淡々と歌っているだけのようにも聞こえますが、
私は聴いていて胸の高鳴りを抑えることができません。
その久しく入手困難だったオーケストラ録音のLP２枚も含め、
未発表の録音２CDを加え、Fontana時代の録音を集大成したのが、
Discover Who I Am - The Fontana Years 1966-1970 (2023 Universal Music)
入手が極めて困難な、シングルで出た別テイクまで収録されています。
ファンなら絶対に買うべきCDです。
さて、私は、70年代に彼女自身のDahodillレーベルで出たものが一番好きで、一番よく聴きます。
ここでは、自作曲を中心に小編成のバンドで（しばしば弾き語りで）歌っており
彼女自身の音楽を聴くことができます。
自作の曲もいい曲で、シンガー・ソングライターとしての彼女も私は高く評価しています。
お勧めは、70年代後半の３枚

「I'm Hip」を初めとする３枚のコンピレーション盤も良い出来です。
Winchester in Apple Blossom Time (Volume IV) 1977
私の大学生時代に二枚組LPで出た、ほぼ全編自作曲を弾き語りのレコード
（表題曲はLPの頭と終わりに、弾き語りとベースの伴奏とで２ヴァージョン入っていましたが、今出ているCDは後の方の一曲だけです。）
当時は持て余した記憶がありますが、今聴くと楽しいし、いい演奏です。
日本のシンガーソングライター
ついでに書いておくと、日本人のシンガーソングライターとして一番好きなのは、中島みゆきさんです。
「臨月」「寒水魚」の二枚は棺桶に入れてほしいレベルの作品だと思っています。
（ほとんど全てのCDを持っていました。）
しかし天性としての声の可愛さという点からは、Blossom Dearieに匹敵するのは、谷山浩子さんかもしれません。
（CDは一枚も持っていませんでしたが、自作曲も悪くはありません。）
本当に古い話ですが、谷山さんがディスクジョッキーを担当した木曜深夜の「オールナイトニッポン」は伝説的な番組だったと思います。
さらに、ついでに書いておくと、
声がカワイイ、歌もうまい、外見も可愛い―という点から、Blossom Dearie に匹敵するのは
ストックホルムの妖精
リサ・エクダール Lisa Ekdahl
しかいない、と私は思っています。
ただ残念ながら、ジャズのCDとなると
Back To Earth (1999 BMG)
1枚しかありません。（At the Olympia のDVDとか、When did You Leave Heaven? 辺りまでがジャズでしょうか。）
このCD、ヨーロッパ盤と日本盤で（さらにはアメリカ盤で）収録曲とジャケット・デザインが異なります。
日本盤は、ボーナストラックが2曲追加されてますが、これが嬉しいような、有難迷惑のような、ちょっと扱いに困ります。
というのは欧米盤はノルダール・トリオの静かな演奏で終わっており、これがいいのです。日本盤はアルバムの統一感を損なっています。
しかしジャケット・デザインは明らかに日本盤の勝ち。
どちらを買って棺桶に入れてもらうか、散々悩んだ末、今手元には2枚とも置いてあります。
