Roses in Regent's Park

A cafe in Regent's Park.
The room on the left hand side was a buffet.
In the right room, waiters or waitresses served
the customers.
Therefore, the price of the food was more
expensive and it was relatively uncrowded
in the right room.

gIn June, roses at Queen Mary's Garden in Regents Park are really beautiful! h, one of my friends who was staying and studying in London once said. Since then, visiting England in June was one of my dreams.
However, there are no national holidays in June. Moreover, if I go to England, I want to stay for at least a week. It means that I have to take more than 5 days off. Therefore, every year, although I wished I would visit England in June, my dream hadn't been realised.
In 2005, 10 years after my friend's words, I finally got a chance to visit to Queen Mary's Gardens in June. Wow!!

It was a very fine day. After I went to Portobello Road and had breakfast, I walked to Kensington Gardens and said gHelloh to Peter Pan. Then, I got on the train from Lancaster Gate to go to Regents Park.
I had never thought that the sunshine in England was so strong. I walked around without wearing hat or putting up my umbrella, so I got quite tired at this point. Moreover, after I arrived at Regents Park, I wasn't sure where Queen Mary's Garden was because I lack of a sense of direction, so I had to walk around although I had visited there several times. Finally, my legs felt like lead. Thus, when I almost arrived at Queen Mary's Garden, I wanted to take a short break. At that time, I found a cafe. It was almost noon, but I didn't feel hungry at all, probably because I felt too exhausted. At the entrance, I asked a waitress, gI'm not hungry. Can I have a soft drink without eating?h. She answered, gOf course!h and took me to one of the window seats. I felt like drinking a lot of water. When I ordered a bottle of water, the waitress said, gIt's too big.h Then, I said, gIt's all right. I really want to have a lot of water.h
I finished drinking the 750 ml bottle of sparkling water taking about 30 minutes and finally recovered!

As my friend had said to me, roses in Queen Mary's Garden are really beautiful. I walked in the garden where numerous kinds of roses were in full bloom. I looked at them one by one. Even smelling and looking at the roses themselves was interesting, however, knowing their names was even more so and very amusing. Remembrance, Pride of England, Simply the Best, Thinking of you. I wondered what they were thinking of and for whom they had named their roses.

I sometimes thought, gHow lovely they are!h, gThey smell so very good.h,gThe colour is beautifulh, or gI like its name.h Here, I'll show you some of roses which were appealing.@

After seeing the roses, I began to walk towards the exit and found a couple who seemed to have just got married. Many people gathered and celebrated the happy-looking couple. I heard that in England, there wasn't so much rain in June. I thought that this must be a typical English scene--June brides that are happily smiling surrunded by greenery, roses in full bloom in the sunshine.
