Hibakusha delegation is visiting eastern part of the US from August 2 to 11.
Six members, divided into three groups, visit Washington DC, New Jersey and New England. The delegation speaks at a number of community events and at commemoration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
They tell the truth of the atomic bombing and call on no more creation of Hibakusha.

The panel will consist of two Hiroshima survivors, Shunsaburo Tanabe, 74 from Tokyo and Kouichi Yasui from Sapporo representing Nihon Hidankyo; Dennis Nelson, a St. George Utah Downwinder representing (NARS); Tom Smith, an Atomic Veteran representing the Alliance of Atomic Veterans (AAV); and Vice Admiral Eugene Carroll(US Navy Retired), Deputy Director of the Center for Defense Information. The program will be moderated by Ms. Kitty Tucker, Esq., President of the Health Energy Institute and noted author and researcher on the health effects of ionizing radiation. To facilitate the program, translators will be provided, with the A-Bomb survivors each making a brief ststement. Each participant will speak for approximately ten minutes, followed by a question and answer period.

12:00 pm Walking from Harvard Square to Central square

The peace marchers are focusing on the depleted uranium work of Starmet company and Raytheon's nuclear-war related military production. At noon, two Hibakusha will join the send off for walking from Harvard Square to Central square.

August 5 (Wed) 6 pm at the Woodrow Wilson School Plaza on the Princeton University Campus

The picnic will begin at 6 pm and the program at 7 pm. Youth for Peace will fold paper cranes with children of all ages. Opening by Susan Tenney and her dancers. A moment of silence at 7:15. Speakers include Zia Mian, a Pakistani physicist; two Hibakusha, Ms. Yoneda and Mr. Tamaru, from Tokyo, and a Gulf War Veteran. Music by the Solidarity Singers. "Shadows", a piece Susan Tenney composed for th event, will be presented by the dancers. Candle-floating on the reflection pond and will follow.
