What is Tokyo Space DanceH
Tokyo Space Dance seeks to a new coming art and a new social design project by getting the needed relationships between the body and the space in our time of information society, elderly society, robotic society, society with mulch cultures and space age, then we will create a new dance & design for the object, the space, the information, the communication, and the universe.
From 1990, as our preparative works, we have hold Space Dance performances, its workshops, its lectures, and its exhibitions at MIT Lab in Boston, at the United Nations in New York, at Tokyo Design Center in Tokyo, at several theaters, arts-centers, museums, science museums, and the universities, in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Detroit, Mexico City, Monterrey, Merbourne, London, Leeds, Edinburgh, Paris, Bruxelles, Luxembourg, Berlin, Hannover, Roma, Napoli, Istanbul, Ankara, Beirut, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore, then we have got several admirations.
In our plan, 2010, we will hold "Space Dance in the Tube" as "Art, Education and Social Design Project" in Congo, Uganda, Turkey, Thai, and Japan supported by the United Nations Uganda Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and each governments, JICA, several foundations and companies. Then, at last, we would like to hold this project at 100 cities in the world. And, 2011-2014, we will join to "ArtOsphere" to hold it at several european cities.
As a link of the chain of this plan, we have hold a feasibility study "Space Dance, Someday in the Universe" with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency(JAXA) 2004-2006 in Tokyo. 2006, we have joined "Science Agora" supported by Japan Science & Technology Agency and Ministry of Education & Science in Tokyo. December 2006 in "UNESCO Prise for Digital Arts" in Monaco, our "Space Dance" was selected as "20 Projects in the World". 2007 in Tokyo, we have hold "Space Dance in the Tube" at Hoya Primary School with 440 students and Tama Science Museum with many audiences, it was the talk of the town and TV news. November 2007 in Praha, we joined an International Conference "MutaMorphosis: Challenging Arts and Sciences" supported by CIANT and LEONARD.
Then, 2008, a book of "Space Dance" by Tetsuro Fukuhara was published by Shunju-sha publishing company in Tokyo. And, 2009, "Space Dance in the Tube" was hold at Bangkok and Kampala at the Patravadi Thearter and the National Theatre supported by the Japan Foundation, Japanese Emabassies, JICA, and the United Nations Uganda Office.
