After breakfast, Ms. Koh and I watched TV at our room in the morning. The Oriental Bangkok had satellite programs. We watched BBC world news programs, sports programs, and NHK (Japanese teletext) news programs. At 2:00 PM, we went to Authors' Lounge. It was a famous place for traditional afternoon tea (544.50 Baht). The jam was "pomelo (som-o in Thai) ". It was similar to a grapefruit. I enjoyed tea very much.Back to Topics
We went to the pier and rode on the free shuttle boat to go to the Oriental Spa. There were the Spa and Sala Rim Naam Restaurant on the opposite side of the Chao Phya River.
We reserved the Oriental Spa two months before. It had many programs. We chose two and a half hours program, "the Revitalizer (103 US Dollars)".Back to Topics
At 4:00 PM, a spa worker showed me to a room. And I ordered mineral water. I was alone in the room. I took off my clothes and shoes. I entrusted my valuable things at a safety box (in the left of the photo). I put on a shampoo hat and entered the shower room. I took a shower. A body shampoo included silk protein.
A massager entered the room. She handed a bath towel to me. I put on the towel. She asked me whether the nakedness was good for me or not. I did not want to be the nakedness. She gave me a panty.
The beginning of the program was "the papaya body polish". This program was very popular because papaya extract removed waste of the skin. I lay on the bed. The massager applied papaya extract to my body. And she wrapped me up a special paper. Fifteen minutes later, I took a shower to wash off the papaya extract. I got out of the shower room. I put on the towel. I took a glass of mineral water.
Next, the massager did "Jet Lag Solution". I arrived at Thailand 5 days before, so I had already solved jet lag. But, I felt great to get the massage.
After that, I got "the seaweed treatment". The massager applied seaweed extract to my body. And she wrapped me up a special paper again. My skin was refreshed by the ingredient of the seaweed. Fifteen minutes later, I took a shower to wash off the seaweed. I got out of the shower room. I put on the towel.
I had a tea break. I ordered a kind of herbal tea, lemon balm tea. I had a cup of tea and relaxed.
The end of program was "stimulation leg treatment". She massaged my legs politely. My legs were nice and cool.
Lastly, the massager told me that it was better for me not to take a bath today. It was necessary to keep the effect of the treatment. The spa programs were really comfortable.Back to Topics
At 7:10 PM, We went to Sala Rim Naam Restaurant. There was next to the Oriental Spa. We reserved there two months before. The restaurant was gorgeous. We sat on the floor. I ate "gai thod takrai (deep fried chicken marinated with lemon grass)", "phad paag (stir fried vegetables with oyster sauce) ", "khow hommali (steamed jasmine rice)" and a few Thai dishes. I took a cup of tea. Then, I ate Thai desserts. They were good. Thai Classical Dances were very graceful.
It was a squall from around 8:00 PM. The clerks put up big umbrellas for us.
