Island Fairy Saves Sailors

A poetic Fairy Tale from the Isle of Man

narrated by
Hjelmar Woodpeck

As gales lashed the beaches
Of Douglas Bay ,
The sea , foaming white with rage ,
Tossed and turned
With wild anger
The fragile ship
Held in its grip,
No escape from its fury .
As hapless sailors watched in dismay,
Their proud vessel torn apart
on the rock ,
Desperate screams for their lives
were not heard ,
No humans came to their rescue .
But from nowhere
the Island Fairy appeared,
Gliding softly on magical wings ,
One by one she carried the crew to safe ground ,
To the Tower of Refuge
On Conister Rock
for a miracle salvation .
