Hello Pop,
The FO-29 bird voice is of 'Bush warbler', 'Uguis' in Japanese,
not duck, the voice of that we can hear at the begining of spring.
Japanese likes the voice of the bird because it tells us that
spring has come.

Hello Pop,
I attached here the picture of the bird 'Uguis'.
The status of FO-29 is now only Digitalker mode,
so we can not use CW and SSB and Digital modes.
These modes are announced from the ground station of JARL in Japan.
I think the mode will become SSB from Digitalker after next week.

Ohayo Mineo san,
Arigato - it was very nice to see the picture of the Uguis and
also to hear its song. My cat also liked it very much. :-)
I received my special QSL card from JARL - that was very fast!

Japanese YL announces as 'JAS-2', not 'ducktoo'.
We can hear 'JAS-2' when we hear carefully it.
'JAS-2' is equal to 'FO-29'.
Also,
Japanese are in love the song of Uguis, 'hou hokkekyou'.
The voice of that we can hear at the begining of spring.
Japanese loves the voice of the bird because it tells us
that spring has come.
> This is JAS-2, hou hokkekyou .....
So,
> This means 'This bird is FO-29, we love Uguis,
> the song is 'hou hokkekyou .....'
I put a NEW picture of 'Uguis'. Please see here,
http://www.ne.jp/asahi/hamradio/je9pel/fo29digi.htm
Ps. Today(Sep.10), FO-29 is changed to Analog mode
from Digitalker mode.
