ようだね‥‥ミスター・ナルホドー。
'Pon my word：「upon my word」のこと。「誓って」「確かに！」「驚いた！」などの意味で、原作ホームズにもよく登場するフレーズ。
“’Pon my word, Watson, you are coming along wonderfully. You have really done very well indeed. It is true that you have missed everything of importance, but you have hit upon the method, and you have a quick eye for colour.（後略）
「見事だ、ワトソン、君は素晴らしく成長している。よくやっているよ。実際のところ、重要な部分はすべて見逃しているが、やり方は発見しているし、色についてもよく観察している。（後略）」

Ryunosuke「でも！ その部屋は路面（地上階）から１階分の高さがあるし、とにかく雪の中には足跡はなかった！」
「その部屋は路面から１階分の高さがあるし」と、やたら回りくどい表現になっているのは、第4話 探偵【その2】解説で説明した通り、イギリスでは建物の階数の表現が、アメリカや日本とは異なるためと思われる。プレイヤーが勘違いしないよう、まわりくどくてもわかりやすい表現を優先しているのだろう。
