Mitsubishi MU-2 is bussiness/multi utility airplane with two turbo-prop engines. MU-2 is developed and manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industry Ltd., famous as Zero Fighter in WW2, of Japan. MU-2 has STOL (short runway take off and landing) performance. It's speed and maximum range were the top of the world in two turbo-prop engine aircrafts. 755 MU-2s were made from 1963 to 1985. JASDF use MU-2 now as a rescue aircraft. This paper airplane models MU-2P Solitaire, the latest model of MU-2 with stretch body, but several modification is given for performance of gliding of paper plane. This paper airplane has light weight, durable structure and good performance.
Incredible method of launching : "Vertical climb"!!
This MU-2 paper airlane can climb vertically to high altitude and glide for long time (up to 30 seconds or more). At first, repeat test flight and adjust the MU-2 to fly stably and slightly turn to the left or right. Then, use the rubber band catapult and launch the plane to vertically upward. MU-2 will climb perpendicularly to high altitude and turn at the top, then go to gliding, if it is completely adjusted. If plane climb vertically but descent down straight!, the elevator is too downtrim. If plane roll vertically just after launching, the elevator is too uptrim. Trim elevator slightly and try again.

How to manufacture your MU-2
Download the drawing and print it on thick paper. (Refer to Material and Instruments.) Set up your printer for thick paper.
Cut on solid thick lines.
Start with the body. Fold up as dash and dot line " _ . _ . _" , the line consealed in fold or located inside the corner as result, and fold down as dash line " - - - - " . At first, stick vertical tail fin inside the body. Then, spread adhasive inside the body and refold. Fold nose cover over nose of body and attach with glue. Cut out the catapulting hook. Fold the frontal edge of main wings and stick under the wings. Dihedral angle of main wings is 7 degrees. Stick the main wings to top of body. Stick horizontal tail fin to the body. No lead balance weight is needed. (lead-free policy)

Adjustment
Bend down wings slightly as a bow shape to make camber. Dihedral angle of main wings is 7 degrees. Coat with spray paint thinly if you will fly MU-2 outdoor.
