Paper

To make paper airplanes on this web site, I use thick smooth paper (called as "Kent Paper" in Japan, but I don't know how it called in your country.), which is used for drafting, calling card (visiting card) and christmas card etc. It is called "card stock" in North America.
Recommended thickness (weight) of that paper is 200 - 260 gram / square meter. This thickness is equivalent to 9 - 11 point stock (in North America).
You can also make airplanes with thick letter paper (100-150g/m^2), if you only fly indoor.
Paper size of drawing in this web site is A4 (297 x 210 mm), for considering to print it with personal printer. If you live in USA, use legal size paper (8 1/2" x 14") or letter size paper (8 1/2" x 11").
Direction of paper (pulp) fiber in the paper, which is called "grain", is an important point. Stiffness of paper is not equal in each directions. Paper is hard to bend to the direction of fiber, on the other hand it is easy to bend at the right angle to direction of fiber. Use the stiff direction of paper along the wing span and long axis of airplane body. Direction of paper fiber should be along to short side of paper (short-grain paper) for drawings of paper aircrafts on this web site.
I would like to thank Mr. Stikeman for advice about technical terms of paper.

Adhesive

Please use non-water adhesive. Water glue soften and crumple the paper, so the strength of airplane will decrease.

Coating, Painting

If you fly the paper airplane outdoor in high humidity area, you should coat the plane with paint spray thinly.

Instruments of your airplane factory

Scissors, ruler (to fold the paper accurately), clothespin (to hold the paper until the adhesive harden).
Of course, computer connected to internet and printer.

Manufacturing the airplane

1. Download the drawing of paper airplane.
2. Print the drawing on the thick paper. (Set up your printer for thick paper.)
3. Cut the paper according to the thick solid line.
4. Fold up as dash and dot line " _ . _ . _" , the line consealed in fold or located inside the corner as result, and fold down as dash line " - - - - " , the line appear on the fold.
5. Paste the paper and hold with clothespin.
6. Wait for glue or paste to dry.
7. Spray paint if needed.
8. No balance weight is needed to adjust the Center of Gravity in drawings on this web site. (lead free policy)
9. Adjust the plane as "How to fly".
