After I reserved a table for lunch, the hotel sent me a sample Sunday lunch
menu by e-mail. The menu is below.
When I saw this menu, I thought;
It looks tasty!
First of all, I have to choose a starter. Let me see... I'll have a soup.
Next is the main... I'll have roast sirloin.
Then, a dessert...I'll have Chocolate brownies!

We were taken to a table next to a window. My friend said, "This table
looks like a special seat, doesn't it?"
They probably considered that we had come all the way from Japan. I appreciated
it.
There are two rooms for lunch in Thornbury Castle. In our room, there were
two elderly couples, 5 or 6 family members who probably came from America,
and a few other guests apart from us.
The dishes which we ate are pictured below.
Before lunch, the left dish was served. There were some green and black olive, and a tomatos on cheese. | |
<Starter> upper : My friend ordered this dish. lower : I had the soup. When you look at it, it looks like pumpkin potage, but actually it was carrot and cardammon soup. It tasted a little unique. I wonder how they made this soup. By the way, my friend said that her dish, the terrine, tasted rather unusual too! |

|
<Main course> We both ordered roast filet beef. It was delicious! |
<Dessert> upper : This is the creme brulee which my friend ordered. It was accompanied with chocolate and hazelnut shortbread. lower : This is the chocolate parfait which I ordered. When I found chocolate parfait on the menu, I wondered what is parfait? I wanted to try a lemon cheesecake also, but this was more attractive, because I wanted to know what parfait was. Therefore, I chose it! It was very sweet, but tasty. However, my question isn't solved yet. |
|
<Tea after lunch and petit fours> I had two petit fours, although my friend could eat only one because she was full. |
In a harmonious atmosphere, we had starters, roast beef, and desserts which put us in a gorgeous mood.
