The Sea near to London

I prefer the sea to mountains. Probably that's why I like the colour "blue". When I see the sun rising or setting into the sea, I am always moved seeing the golden sun setting into the sea--the moment it sets, the blue of the sea changes to a unique colour.
On this page, I'll show you two places by the sea where you can go on a day return from London.

Seven Sisters

How to go

It takes about one hour and forty minutes from Victoria to Eastbourne by train. From there, you should take the bus.
<In my case>We saw Seven Sisters from the opposite side. We used the train to Eastbourne and after that, we walked for about forty five minutes.

When I heard the name, "Seven Sisters", it reminded me of Queen's "Seven Seas of Rhye", which I used to listen to. "Seven Seas", and "a white cliff which has seven crests". There is no relation between them. However, Seven Sisters reminded me "Seven Seas of Rhye" and I began to want to go and see the place.
I went to Eastbourne with a friend who came to London on her way from Paris to Tokyo. The journey to Eastbourne took 2 and half hours. I heard Eastbourne was the nearest station from Seven Sisters, but when we got off the train, we couldn't see the sea at all. I felt a little uneasy. From the station, we took a bus for about twenty minutes. Then, we walked and walked through a field (above). "Can we really reach the sea?", I became anxious. We continued to walk. Suddenly, the white cliff appeared in the distance(right).
"Look! It must be Seven Sisters!" "Yes!! It must be." After we could see our destination, our steps grew quicker.
"Yeah, it is wonderful! It is a little bit far, but it doesn't matter!"
We were satisfied.

I challenge the mighty Titan and his troubadours
And with a smile
I'll take you to the seven seas of Rhye

Brighton

How to go

<train>It takes about one hour from Victoria station.
<bus>IIt takes about one hour and forty-five minutes from Victoria Coach station.
<In my case>We used the train.

The name, Brighton reminded me of Queen's song too. It was "Brighton Rock".

O Rock of Ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still
O Lady Moon, shine down a little people magic if you will

(Adapted from "Brighton Rock" in "Sheer Heart Attack" by Queen)

I'm not sure if this song is related to Brighton, but my friend and I found a pub whose signboard has Fredie Mercury's portrait. "Look! This is Fredie" "Wow..." We became a little excited. Sorry, our tention is always high!

If you want to go to Brighton, it takes one hour by train from London, Victoria. Brighton is easy to get to. Whenever you feel like it, you can go there.
We ate fish and chips at the seaside. We rode a strange machine at an amusement park on Palace Pier(right) although we are not children. I remember, a freshly-fried donut was really tasty!
Moreover, I don't know why in Brighton, but we went to Laura Ashley's sale and bought some goods. Because of this, our luggage gained more weight.
