Grand Canyon

When we dicided to go to Seattle and Las Vegas , my previous boss who is very knowledgeable about America adivised me, "You should visit the Grand Canyon. If somebody asks me where is the No.1 nature spot in America, I'd recommend it." He continued to say, "The reason why I say that is because the Grand Canyon itself is breathtaking and moreover, I think we can't find similar scenery anywhere in the world." Therefore, I thought that I had no choice except to go there.
This travel was a mixed plan between my cousin and I ; I wanted to go to Seattle and my cousin wanted to go to Las Vegas. We dicided to travel together quickly because we thought that both Seattle and Las Vegas is on the West Coast of America, so we could go to both the places in about a week. Then, we divided up the work ; Booking hotels and so on in Seattle was in my job and that of Las Vegas was in my cousin's. The Grand Canyon was my cousin's responsibility because we were going to go there from Las Vegas although I had asked her to go.
At first, I thought that we could travel around the Grand Canyon ourselves ; the only thing we should do was to book our flight and a hotel. However, my cousin said, "the Grand Canyon is a very large place, so we'd better to use a package tour." Now I completely agree with her. We took an overnight package tour--In the morning, we left Las Vegas and arrived at the Grand Canyon around noon. Then we had lunch and we visited some view points around the South Rim. After going back to our lodge and taking a rest, we drove to a view point to see the sunset. Besides, if we wanted, we could see the sunrise from a view point near El Tovar Hotel the next morning--. First we thought that we couldn't go to see the sunrise because there was no outdoor light, so it must be dark and dangerous. However, after thinking about it a little, we changed our minds. We thought that we could go to see the sunrise on the condition that it would take us only 15 minutes because it is usually quite light just before the sunrise. Therefore, we got up at around 4:30 a.m. and left the lodge for the view point to see the sunrise while the moon was still in the sky.
On the first day, we had a sudden rainfall in the sunshine. Because of this, we could see both lightning and a rainbow while viewing the Grand Canyon.
We thanked the Lord for a great present. I really enjoyed that view!
Here is some of the scenery which I'd like to share with you. This is what my previous boss called "breathtaking" and "we can't find similar scenery anywhere in the world". Don't you agree that it is great?

There was no fence at our feet. Our tour guide said, "Pay attention. Some people fell off recently!!" I think it was a joke, but the scenery was amasing--I can never forget that sight.
A squirrel which I found on the way to El Tovar Hotel. The squirrel sniffed when I held a camera in my right hand and a soft ice cream in my left. A passerby said, "He wants your ice cream!"
This is the Colorado River. Why does the river look brown?
Here the sun begins to set.
This isn't such a good picture, but it is the rainbow after the rain. Because of lightning, the colour of the sky is a little mysterious, isn't it?
The sun set at 7:20 in the evening.
Thank the sun for shining. See you tomorrow.
This is the sunrise the next day.
Here the sun is rising.
In the right hand side, you can see El Tovar Hotel.
They say that you can't book a room next year because the hotel is already full. It is probably because you can see the sunrise from every room in the hotel.

This is El Tovar Hotel during daytime.
Half the sun appears...
Dazzling sunshine! Don't you agree?
