A soap dish which I bought at Camden Lock. I liked this absemt-minded looking
cat.
However, this dish is quite fragile. After I dropped it a few times, it
became a little chipped.
The year when we stayed at a hotel near Euston station, Taki who travelled
with me said, "I want to go to Camden Lock." Before this trip,
I had visited England eight times, but I had never been to Camden Lock.
"Camden Lock? I don't know the place." Taki began to talk of
how Camden Lock attracted her according to the information in a guidebook.
"If you want to go there so much, let's go." That was how we
started our plan to visit Camden Lock.
A magazine said that there was a market in Angel. I remembered that when I went to England for the second time, we stayed at a hotel near Angel station. It looked a desolate town, but there was a market! Suddenly, I began to want to go to Angel. Looking at my map, from Euston, it seemed to be possible to walk to both Angel and Camden Lock.
"At first, we'll walk to Euston. Next, we'll go to St. Pancras station,
then to Angel. After that, we'll visit Camden Lock."We decided on
the day's program.
left : St. Pancras station(We didn't enter, but we noticed the sign). Don't
you think that it looks gorgeous? There are some major stations in London,
I like the outward appearance of this station best.
the middle, right : Angel. The middle photo is of roses which we found
in a park while walking on the street. They look wonderful, don't they?
"Hey, let's take some photos in front of the road sign!" "Look!
It looks interesting!"
When we walk, we sometimes find something interesting. We stopped here
and there. We walked to Angel.
However, when we arrived at Angel, we saw that almost all of the shops
were closed. It was probably because it was Sunday, or it was too early.
"Um, we can't go inside the shops.", so we looked into the shops
from outside. Then, we noticed somebody moving inside one of the shop.
She beckoned us in. It was a shop which sold some kitchen utensils. I think
that some of them weren't available in Japan, so seeing the shop was interesting.
However, if we are asked, "What do you want?", we were not sure.
Therefore, we left there without buying anything feeling a little guilty.
Finally, we arrived at Camden Lock!
See these photos in right-hand side.
"Wow!", Taki was absorbed in trying on some pairs of shoes and
clothes. At one shop, a shop assistant said to her, "I like your skirt.
You can sell it at a high price here."
As for me, I coudn't forget a soap dish(left) which I found at a shop near the entrance of the market and liked it at
first sight.
While Taki was looking for something interesting, I was thinking about
the disadvantages of the dish. "It is a little expensive compared
to its appearance.", or "It looks fragile." However, I thought,
"I like the cat's absent-minded face" Finally, I decided to buy
it. (By the way, this soap dish is still in my lavatory although it has
become chipped. The cat on the dish looks at me humorously.)
It was past noon. "Let's have something to eat." I ate pita bread at a stall. Inside it, there were humous* and vegetables. But what is humous? It sounds like humour. After I ate it, I didn't know what humous was. Hey, it isn't humous, but it is XX, or Humous is XX... If you know about humous, give me some information about it. I still wonder what it is.
*In March of 2005, I received e-mail about humous from one of my HP visitors.
According to the valuable information, humous consists of garbanzo beans,
sesame puree, lemon juice, and virgin olive oil.
