Pulteney Bridge over the River Avon
We got on the 12:30 train and arrived at Bath before 2 o'clock. You can
go to Bath from London on the spur of the moment--the train jouney takes
around one and a half hours. All you have to do is turn up at Paddington
station. Althought the jouney is easy, you can see the unique Roman Baths
at Bath--well worth visiting.
After we visited Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths, and the Circus, it had become dark because it was winter, just after New Year's Day. Lights shone in the town which was still Christmas decorated. The town looked truely beautiful.
The second time I visited Bath was in the Summer. I went to Bath, Stonehenge,
and Salisbury with a bus tour which I sometimes use when I travel alone.
I walked to the Royal Crescent which I had missed to visit on the first
occasion during the bus tours free time schedule. On my way, I saw a bride
who had just got married. I sometimes see such happy scenes, events or
things when I travel--they always raise my spirits and move me feel happy
too.

Stonehenge--Salisbury
Who made them and for what purpose? Everybody still wonders about these
mysterious stones. Nobody knows how these heavy stones were carried here
either.
I wanted to go to Stonehenge, but it would need a long journey from London. At first, I had to go to Salisbury. From there, I had to take a bus for about 40 minutes. Therefore, I decided to use a one-day bus tour which included Bath, Sonehenge, and Salisbury. We left London a little past 11, then arrived in Bath at around noon. We left Bath at 2 o'clock and arrived in Stonehenge before 4 o'clock. Then, we visited Salisbury.
Salisbury is a place in which the novel and movie, "The remains
of the day", was set. Our visit was a little hurried, so I want to
visit there again taking more time. If I can, I want to see a manor house
too.
