Pete Sampras and Bridgette Wilson-Sampras make it two with newborn Ryan Nikolaos |
More than a month after giving birth to her second child, Bridgette Wilson-Sampras can testify that husband Pete Sampras has at least one talent beyond tennis. "Pete is a really good diaper-changer," says the actress, who turns 32 this month, "but he'll quietly try to do the hand-off to me before I can tell, which I think is hilarious." Sampras has been practicing the routine since July 29, when Ryan Nikolaous, weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz., joined big brother Christian, 2 1/2. The second baby came much easier than the first, says Wilson-Sampras, who recalls being sick "straight through, seven months every day" during her first pregnancy. And before she could lose the last 6 lbs. of the 25 she had gained during pregnancy, she found out that Ryan was on the way. "I had a goal before I got pregnant again, and I was like, 'Well, there goes that.'" This time, at least, she had some extra help at home. "Every morning Christian would say, 'Do you need cocoa butter?' And he'd rub it on my stomach." Right after the birth (Sampras, 34, cut the cord), the couple had their boys exchange gifts: Christian got a toy car, Ryan a stuffed animal. So does all the good feeling mean the couple will try for three? "Never say never," she says, "but two is just perfect for now." |
