（当協会が、かつてハーシェル・コンサート等を企画した際の、楽譜の入手先について、当時の記事から転載します。情報は1984年当時のものですので、現在とは異なる可能性もありますが、ご参考までに。）
「大英図書館とカリフォルニア大学図書館から入手したハーシェル作曲スコアについては、下記の通りです。
○大英図書館所蔵
・Synphony Nos. 1-4 (1760)
○カリフォルニア大学図書館所蔵
・Concerto for violin and string orchestra (1761)
・Concerto in D minor (1759) "The Maidstone" for viola and orchestra
彼の音楽資料は、このほか、エディンバラ大学図書館、ロンドン王立音楽大学、ケンブリッジ音楽図書館にあることが知られています。別の用事でエディンバラ天文台に接触したとき、ついでに同地の大学図書館の資料を聞いてもらったところ、以下のとおり返事がありました。
○エディンバラ大学図書館のハーシェル楽譜は全曲入手可能
Dr. J.T.D.Hall, Sub-librarian, Special Collection of Edinburgh
University Library, has replied that they can supply a microfilm copy of the
whole manuscript collection of following six volumes of organ music by
Herschel as well as part of a treatise by him on the theory of music.
The organ music consists of,
(1) 6 fugues for the organ,
(2) 32 voluntaries and full pieces for the organ,
(3) Sonate per l'organo,
(4) 12 full organ pieces, 1st set,
(5) 12 full pieces for the organ, 2nd set,
(6) 12 voluntaries for the organ
