inported from Maldive Islands. When they use dried fish in Sri Lanka ,they break those in pieces and keep it in a dry place such as glass bottles. The broken dried fish is put into Vyanjana of Sri Lankan food. Although mainly used for vesitable dishes , you may use it also at meat dishs. Dried fish is indispensable also at the pol sambol which is the basic food of Sri Lankan cookery.
