Hi Mineo and the group, I'm not sure what you mean that GSC.EXE will not
work on Vista. I am running WISP32 on Vista Business and both GSC.EXE and
MPSE.EXE run.

I didn't realize there was a problem, but that may be because of the way
I install WISP32. I don't!

>From a working version of WISP32 on and older XP computer or from a backup

1 - copy the entire C:\WISP32 (correct C:\WISP) folder to the C: drive of
Vista because I'm too lazy to reconfigure the QTH, radio, rotator and
individual satellites etc that is required with a new clean install.

2 - on the XP computer, export the entire WISP32 WISP registery
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WiSP] to a file.

3 - on the Vista PC import the WISP32 WISP registery - you may want to
have set a restore point before doing this :-)

Create your shortcuts and enjoy...

I use this technique every time I'm forced to rebuild my XP or Vista images
which is a couple of times a year because I often do one too many tweaks and
end up breaking my whole O/S.

I confirmed that gsc.exe could not work on Windows Vista.
We can setup seemingly WiSP on Vista, but gsc.exe can not run with an error
message. I guess the correct setup information are not written into Registry.

Hello Alan VE4YZ and ALL,

I succeeded in setup WiSP on Windows Vista,
according to Export/Import of Registry in Xp/Vista.

Thank you very much.

Hi Mineo, attached is a JPG of WISP32 running GO-32 on Vista, with GSC.EXE,
MPSE.EXE, VIEW-DIR and the map running at the same time. The message from
VE4WSC to VE4YZ automatically popped open when received. To me, Vista and
WISP32 are completely compatible.

You will also see that VISTA is running within a VMware workstation so it
is a guest on another operating system using the host computers COM1 to
the TNC. WISP32 has the TNC as COM1 set for 9600 baud and the COM1 on Vista
is configured at 19200 baud in the Device Manager.

I have received no warning or error messages from either Vista nor WISP32.

I hope this helps you.

I have it running on WIN7 32 bit with no problem. I installed it about 2
years ago, and don't recall having to do anything special. I use another
program for tracking, but I used the message functions with the AO-51 BB.

It helps to install ancient programs in another directory than
"Program Files" if run from a non-admin account, to prevent access issues.
I have a C:\MYPROGRAMS directory for that.
