West Coast US (Ken) Japan (Mineo) Subject: STRaND-1 magnetometer data analysis From: Mike Rupprecht Date: Fri, 29 Mar 2013 19:45:50 +0100 Hi all, I finished my orbit simulation software and did some interesting analyses. See attached 4 screenshots. These data are from Colin - Australia, Ken- West Coast US, Mineo - Japan und Mike. You can see the calculated F value from the WMM2010 model and the real F (calculated by mag x, y, z) sent by STRaND. It is very intersting to see the deviation here in Europe and in Japan. Maybe I will add a spline function to smooth the real F curve later. The plots in the world mag map are not very precise because I have some issues with the y conversion into mercator projection. Will fix that later. @Chris: I assume the mag telemetry values are not calibrated, so we have the raw values from the magnetometer? Additionally I optimized the telemetry decoder software. I calculated the time offset of the OBC clock and can now recalculate the "real" time. In this way I got the timestamp for Mineo's and Ken's telemetry file. Colin and I using a software which adds a timestamp to the kiss file - so we have a accurate time for later processing. So, I wish you all a great Easter time.
