The control station is now using 'OBJECT E' as an orbital element of
SOHLA-1. And this was photographed by a CMOS camera.

According to the control station, an amateur band antenna is spread
at 04:10UTC on 24 Feb 2009. And the radio transceiver (HTRX) comfirmed
to ON of supply. The use of the amateur band starts an operative
examination after 16 March and it is going to begin an experiment.
In addition, it is to have succeeded in the function confirmation of
the thunder sensor and the laser reflection experiment.

What's SOHLA-1 ?

Development

SOHLA-1 is the 50kg grade Space Technology Demonstration small spin satellite that the development by Higashiosaka space development cooperation 'SOHLA' is pushed forward as a product government college cooperation project of New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization 'NEDO'. SOHLA, Osaka Prefecture University, Ryukoku University and Osaka University are engaged in this SOHLA-1 development with technological assistance of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency 'JAXA' jointly. The name called 'the MAIDO-1 satellite' is acquired formally after having lifted off for the space. ('MAIDO' is a Japanese Language that means 'Always thank you'.)

Mission

We aim to develop a small spin satellite for Space Technology Demonstration with low cost in a short term. It's a main mission that SOHLA and a university learn a series of work to affect satellite development by the process. In the following, we show it about an experiment (mission) that SOHLA-1 performs in orbit. Precedent experiment of the thunder observation: We grasp the function inspection in the outer space of the measurement machinery which aimed at the monitoring of the thunder activity from the satellite and the received VHF electromagnetic wave characteristic. (The development by Osaka University) Bus technology experiment of the 50kg grade smallsat: Five following experiment machinery are equipped with as a bus technology experiment. (1) Development boom movement experiment machinery (The development by Ryukoku University) (2) Sun sensor movement experiment machinery (The development by Osaka Prefecture University) (3) Small monitor camera movement experiment machinery (4) Orbit decision technology experiment machinery (5) Space environment measurement experiment machinery Space technology demonstration experiment of a part for space: It's equipped with two following experiment machinery as technology demonstration of the parts. (1) CIGS solar battery (2) 200MIPS grade 64bitMPU experiment machinery

We aim now at launching of 2013 in Osaka Prefecture University and perform the conceptual design of a new satellite. About this new satellite, we performed the international adjustment of the frequency and gave design plan to be able to always send a signal all over the world. We really are sorry for the world satellitors who expected it in SOHLA-1. We thank for the reception cooperation of the satellitors very much. Because we try control hard, thanks in advance for your help. > JE9PEL, Mineo Wakita said to the other satellitor: > SOHLA-1 is now only transmitting a signal over Japan. > Ground Station is now examining whether the transmission > of a signal is possible all over the world.
