The new satellites OPAL etc. were launced at 03:03UTC, Jan 27, 2000.
I received today, Jan 29, 08:36-08:50UTC(17:36-17:50JST), the strong
signals from OPAL with WiSP3213.
OPAL
1 26062U 00004B 00027.45125258 .00000224 00000-0 10000-3 0 39

Downlink frequency is 437.100MHz (437.108-437.092MHz, 9600bps FSK).
I noticed that the beacon was transmitted 38bytes every 10 seconds.
I put this raw KISS logfile and WiSP image in my Home Page below.

Dear Mineo,
Looks like you got an excellent download of beacon data from
Opal. That's far better than we've been able to due with our
system here at Stanford. What transceiver are you using? Did
you just use standard Doppler shift calculations? We are working
diligently on ground station trying to obtain better reception
of Opal. We have only been able to connect briefly twice.
Thanks again for the data.

Hello Jamie,
Yes, I had just exactly used standard Doppler shift calculations
for OPAL. Such as,
AOS 437.108MHz
TCA 437.100
LOS 437.092 etc.

Hello Mineo-san
Your msg on Amsat-bb regarding OPAL is very interesting
What is the "Broadcast callsign" and "BBS call sign" for OPAL
I need this for Satellite set up in Wisp32
Thank you

Hello Selvadurai,
You will get ONLY kiss file in your PC with WiSP32 without the
setting up of "Broadcast callsign" and "BBS call sign" for OPAL.
But you must check in GSC such as
GSC - Setup - Satellite Setup - OPAL - Edit -
- MSPE Settings - Log Kiss frames
Log telemetry frames - OK
(again)- MSPE Settings - Log Kiss frames
Log telemetry frames - OK

I looked at your website - nice job. I like your list of sats,
frequencies & call signs - right up to date.
Where can I find the program kiss2asc.exe?
Incidently, my youngest daughter is in Japan studying at the
university in Ngoya.
