TNC KISS_mode OFF

[27 May 2007]

I, JE9PEL have been tracking the KISS_mode satellite using WiSP32 always.
When you exit WiSP, TNC returns to CMD_mode from KISS_mode automatically.
For those who have thought it to WiSP setting is difficult, I will give you
a simple way to return CMD_mode from KISS_mode. You should send to TNC the
command of "C0 FF C0" to do so. These are the binary data, not the text data.
Please perform the following steps.

 1. Run the binary editor such as "stirling.exe" (Japanese).
    http://www.vector.co.jp/soft/win95/util/se079072.html
    or "HxD.exe" (English). http://mh-nexus.de/en/

 2. Choose "File -> New" in the editor.

 3. Type "C0 FF C0", and make "File -> Save As".
Put the name "kiss_off.txt" for example.
The binary file that is created is a small size of only 3 bytes.

 4. Run the terminal software such as Hyper Terminal.

 5. Upload "kiss_off.txt" into TNC of state of KISS_mode.

In this way above, TNC will be able to return to the CMD mode from KISS mode.
