I heard the CW beacon here in EL98oj from 2244-2246 UTC. AOS/LOS times
are probably off a little from the actual horizon times since I was
manually searching with the antenna without any keps.

Congratulations to the HITSAT Team!

From: "Andrew Glasbrenner"

Congratulations to the HITSAT team!

I copied the CW beacon from 22:42 at ~437.280, 22:44 at 274.3 (just after
time of closest approach), and 22:45:45 at 268.2. I was busy pointing and
tuning, so didn't get any of the telemetry, and Mixw didn't either. There
is a bit of a gap between transmissions which makes tuning and pointing by
hand a bit tough, especially with no keps ;-)

The signal was quite strong at times, up to s9 or so on a M2 30cp and
Landwehr preamp.

Looking forward to 1200 baud data from this satellite hopefully.

The Hitsat website is reporting the successful launch of Hitsat earlier
today.

Signal reports of the 70cm beacon have been received from Florida and Iowa.

TLEs given as

I to 'copied' HITSAT from here in West Central Florida. AOS at 22:43
on 437.275 (because that is where the receiver was set to) with a
solid S9 signal.

Copy Following Data
Signal 599 at 437.275 AOS at 22:43

2c4f504d514c4a4b

c1d1d2e6

JR8YJT

29011317222D

LOS at 18:47 437.266 MHz

Agree with Drew, the long gaps in transmission made for tuning and
copying a bit hard. Hence, the there are gaps in the receive data
while looking for the signal to reappear.

Good Luck HITSAT. Looks like you got a SAT that's a HIT...

Hi All,

4 deg pass in California at 00:18 UTC AOS about 3 S units over the noise,
the long gap between
groups makes copy interesting with the Doppler.
