Little steamers

Number one gauge steam railmotor car running that built in autumn 2006.

Building Forte (part 1)


Japanese live steam maker O.S. release the new kit of 5inch small locomotive Forte. I got one of the first products and built it soon.


Three driver axes loco is the first in A&B, so was tested on the R=2m curve track and turnout.


The kit construction is very easy and all parts are high accuracy finish.


All part must be assembled by user but machine tool is not necessary.


The chassis and driving mechanism were completed in one weeks

Building Forte (part 2)


In next week, the boiler and fittings were assembled on my workbench


This loco is free style with epoch-making design, that chassis, boiler and body can be separated by easy way.


Three parts separation system brings easy carry, easy maintenance.


Forte completed in two weeks and steam-upping for first run

Forte running very well and driving with a lot of fun


The small and pretty design fits the small garden railway and beginner of live steam.


Forte became No.22 loco and just 10th steamer in A&B. The second photo shows the cleaning by separating the boiler from chassis.


This Japanese product would get wide appeal in the world.

Shays


I got the junk of many 45mm live steamers, and this Free Style Shay were in the junk


This Shay is designed by Mr. Inoue about 40 years ago, so this model were built by anyone who read Mr. Inoue's article.

Mr. Kashio tried the original infrared rays control system for his N gauge garden railway.


Mr. Hoshino's 5inch Sentinel under construction. the photos show the chassis, engine, vertical boiler and the body.

Dr. Yellow Shinkansen


This Dr. Yellow (maintenance train of JNR Shinkansen ) is a candy bag for children sold as Christmas present.


By setting Tamiya's gearbox and motor Dr. Yellow became the star in the Endless Line.

Henry on the track


Cleaner Henry always works in the garage, and 60% scale small toy Henry was adapted to rail car by Tamiya's gearbox.


The brass wheels were built by lathe, and switch set for speed change by 3V or 6V.
