I finished my study of the spacial distortions coming from the
singularity. I can give you a long boring analysis. So, I should say,
I don't know what's going on. The readings are confused, the data is
contradictory. None of them makes any sense. Anyone or anything more
constructive?

| Tu: |
Ship-wide diagonistics revealed nothing out of the ordinary.
|
| Ca: |
I tried sending out a tachyon signal to scan the singularity.
But all I got back was static.
|
| Ch: |
B'Elanna, do you think you can work with Mr. Carry to clean up that
signal?
|
| B: |
Yes.
|
| Ja: |
Good.
|
| B: |
But it won't work. I mean it was a good idea to try.
But it won't work.
|
| Ja: |
You have another idea?
|
| B: |
I was just thinking about the problems with the Doctor's holographic
projectors. It seems like the spacial distortions might be interfering
with the projector's space alignment.
|
| Ja: |
That was my guess, too.
|
| B: |
If that's the case, I could screen out the distortions by setting up
a localized dumping field around the projectors.
|
| Ca: |
So, priority here will be related(?) with the medical holographic system?
|
| B: |
My point is that if the spacial distortions are also interfering with
the transmission we received from the other ship.
|
| Ja: |
We could set up a similar field around the external sensors and
communicate with them.
|
| B: |
Exactly. And they may know more about what's going on than we do.
|
| Ja: |
Let's give it try. Dismissed.
|
| B: |
Emitter's on line. I am rerunning the dumping field to the deflector grid.
|
| Ja: |
Open the channel to the other ship.
|
| B: |
Dumping fields are intensity.
|
| Ki: |
It's working. We're cutting through the distortions.
|
| Ja: |
Remodulate EM band. See if you can clear up a little more.
|
| Ki: |
Compensating for an aptitude(?) distortion.

This is Captain Kathryn Janeway of the starship Voyager to the vessel
near the quantum singularity. Do you need hail?
|
| Ch: |
That's your hail.
|
| B: |
I'm applying the dumping field to our visual scanners.
I'll see if I can clarify the image.
|
| Pa: |
It's the Voyager. It's us.
