This is one of the series of charity albums for Special Olympics International which works for athletes with intellectual handicaps founded by late President's sister, Eunice Kennedy Shriver.

Most of the songs here are Christmas standards or traditionals, but all were either recorded for this album or unreleased.

Sheryl is backed by Jeff Trott, Tim Smith, Jim Bogios and Mitchell Froom on her version of Blue Christmas, which Elvis Presley once did. It's produced by herself. She sings slowly and tenderly sometimes in sexy falsetto. It's a good version.

Other standout tracks: Steve Winwood's Christmas Is Now Drawing Near at Hand, Blues Traveler's great original Christmas, and songs from Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant and Johnny Lang.
