Notes
Released in June '96 (July in Japan), Candyfloss and Medicine is her third album. It peaked at number 24 in UK albums chart.

With the big band style Town Without Pity being the first single from the album, I was very surprised at her change in musical direction. But other tracks are not so far actually from what she had done before. This album lyrically is focused on her views on love.

Glasgow Star is a typical Eddi song(yet it's one of the standout tracks), but the next Town Without Pity will for sure surprise many fans with its big band style. But don't be mesmerized, or you will miss the great moments from Medicine to Lazy Heart.

Medicine is a low-key number but with the gorgeous strings. Eddi sings in falsetto as in Butterfly Jar, which is not much used technique in her previous works.

Rebel Angels is a cheerful number. It was cut as a single in Japan.

Semi Precious is an excellent song and I'd say it's by far the best track in the album. Eddi's singing - well conveying the delicate feelings without shouting or increasing the voice too much(like Celine Dion), is wonderful alone, but piano by Teddy Borowiecki, strings and guitar(by Dominic Millar?) are all adding extra. This must be one of the best in Eddi's career.

In Lazy Heart, Eddi sings low-key in most part, while she sings emotionally in the chorus part. Again, piano by Teddy Borowiecki and Roy Dodds' drums contribute much to the song's atmosphere.

On one of the "title track", Candyfloss, she sings in low tone, which makes a good contrast with another title track, Medicine, sung in falsetto.

There may be no commercial or catchy tracks here, but you will notice Eddi's singing ability has improved yet to another level. B side tracks included on the singles from this album were all good too, which showed she was in good condition artistically.

On the US release, it's without Town Without Pity and in the different track order with three more tracks added:
1. Glasgow Star
2. Candyfloss
3. Rebel Angel
4. Sugar on the Pill (from Medicine#1)
5. Semi Precious
6. Medicine
7. If You Got A Minute, Baby (from Town Without Pity#2)
8. Lazy Heart
9. Shall I Be Mother (from Town Without Pity#1)
10. Butterfly Jar
11. I Loved A Lad
12. Darkhouse
