I have been enjoying CWCom from hotel room wherever I go.
I usually use a paddle and a straight key sometime.

CWComはEcholinkでコンタクトしたGW0IXP REGさんが教えてくれた。

CWComはインターネットあるいはLAN上のコンピュータ同士がモールスコードを使って通信するためのプログラム。
インターネットを介してCWCom IONOSPHERE Servers に接続すれば世界中のCWerとモールスで通信が出来ます。
キー選択のデフォルトはキーボードの下向きカーソル「↓」に設定されています。
受信したモールスコードはパソコンのスピーカーで聞けますが、翻訳機能も備えていて受信したモールスをテキスト文字に変換し画面に表示されます。

■CWComに接続　(2004/01/15)

上の画像はCWComに接続した時の画面、17:47に接続に成功した旨メッセージが出ています。
CQ CQ・・・とキーボードの↓キー（下向きカーソルキー）でモールス符号を打つとサウンドと共にCW communicator画面にtextが表示されリアルタイムでserverに送信されています。
CW Communicatorの上に重ねたMRXsoftwareのロゴ画面はCWComに接続しているユーザーリストを表示するサイトでここをチェックするとログオンしているステーションがリストアップされています。この時間のログオンステーションは私だけでした。

私の1stコンタクトは英国のM0AYP　MIKEです。
The default CW key is a down arrow key on the keyboard.
I had some hard time to send Morse code using the down arrow key.

■Morse Key
最初はデフォルト設定の「下向きカーソル」がモールスキーでした・・・とても打ちにくい。 Sending Morse code by the arrow key was very hard.
モデム用のRS232Cケーブルを使ってストレートキー用の仮インターフェースを作りました。ワニ口クリップで電鍵の端子に接続します、反対側にはRS232Cのコネクタに差し込むためのスズメッキ線を半田付けした簡単な物。 I thought I want to use my favorite straight key on CWCom. I made a instant cable for connecting my straight ket to the computer. please refer the website Serial (COM) Port Interface, for the pin connectio of COM. port. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am also on CWirc, and I can use the same serial interface on both program, CWCom and CWirc. シリアルインターフェースで常用しているストレートキーが使えるようになりました。電鍵はハイモンド製の HK-701。 This is my favorite straight key HK-701 made in Japan, by HiMound.
接続図とその解説はCWComのWeb siteで読む事ができます。 Morse Key/Sounder Connection 頁の Serial (COM) Port Interface を参照します。
I made a serial interface cable after above test-try. please refer the website Serial (COM) Port Interface, for the pin connectio of COM. port. In my case is the pin 4-6 for the manual key. The URL of CWCom site might be changed. I don't know the new URL./Apr.17th 2009 so We can't see and check the pin connectio of serialport at CWCom site. Windows10になってUSB-Serialインターフェースが使えなくなり、cwcomは一旦使用できなくなりましたが USB-SerialをPL2303HXDに交換して復旧しました。Aug.2022 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

ただの押し釦スイッチですがこれが意外と便利。
CWキーの用途にはスイッチのタッチが軽くて
ストロークが短いほど良いようです。

■Tips of the CWCom
CWComを使って気付いた事やONLINE HELP等の資料に
掲載されている有益なヒントを集めてみようと思います。

１	画面の受信テキストを記録するには？	①ツールバーにある[print]スイッチで印刷する。画面のハードコピーが印刷されます ②ワードパッドを起動してそこに受信画面テキストをコピー＆ペーストしてファイルとして記録する。画面のテキストをハイライトしてマウスの右ボタンをクリックするのですがポップアップメニューが現れません。コピー&ペーストは出来ないものと諦めていましたがガイダンスを読むとワードパッドに限り出来るようになっています。私はこの機能を使って交信した相手から送ってもらった受信テキストをワードパッドにコピー＆ペーストして交信記録書を作成、編集しています。
２	？マークを表示するにはどうしたら良いか。	CWCOMを使って直ぐ気付くのは？マークが表示されない事でしょう。私も最初悩んでしまいました。？のモールスコードを打っているのにimiと表示されるだけで？マークがどうしても表示されないのです。これは貴方のキーイングのせいではなくMorse Library Editorで「？」のコードを編集する必要があります。 ■編集の手順 ①ツールバーの一番右にあるMorse Library Editorをクリックして編集画面を表示させます。 ②Morse Definitionの表上でマウスで下方向にスクロール。count72の「？」符号を表示させます。 ③？符号の行の上でマウスの左ボタンをダブルクリックします。 ④Morse Definitionテーブルの下にあるEditor Morse Definitionの行に「？」のモールスコードが表示されて編集できるようになります。 ⑤Responseの欄のimiを？に変更して編集画面下部のAddキーを押し次にSaveキーを押してファイル変更します（書き込み）。 ⑥Exitキーを押してMorse Library Editorを終了。一旦CWCOMを終了し再度起動します。 ⑦今度は・・－－・・を打つと、？が表示されます。
