DNA sequence of ITS region of this specimen was  99% identical with that of Hygrophorus queletii (GenBank JF908069).

 Spore size were bigger compared to original description by Bresadola (i.e.9-12.5 x 5-6.8 mm). Many basidia of this specimen have two sterigmata, although 3 or 4 spored basidia  are also observed.
