2001 Annual Convention

Our Society held the 2001 annual convention at Toranomon Astronomical Hall from 14:00 in the 10th November last year. The first report was "the Society's Newsletters" (S Kimura) and many members made reports as follows:

  • The Society's homepage (T Kimura)
  • Born in 1913, 70 years of astronomical studies (S Morikubo)
  • 2001 Herschel Tour (Y Ogane)
  • A 16 cm metal speculum, VTR and comments (H Fukumura)
  • Japan Astronomical Reference Centre (O Shigehisa)
  • CloisonnÉ works (N Iizawa)

Various questions and opinions flew about from Society members toward reports made by Mr Fukumura and Ms Iizawa on their creative work, even though they were active in different fields; craft and art. Mr Morikubo, still vigorous in his age, mentioned that he felt interesting to see the homepage of the Society to which Mr T Kimura had made an effort for three years.

We moved to a restaurent for dinner, putting off discussion on the activities plan in the coming year.
