Joseph Love

1929 Born in Worcester, Massachusetts.
1956 MA. Philosophy, Boston College, MA.
1964 M.A., Theology, Sophia University, Tokyo.
1967 M.A., Art History, Columbia University, NY.

Up to 1989, taught history of western art at Sophia Univ. Tokyo. As a critic, writing a number of articles of criticism for "art international", "Bijutsu Techo", "Mizue", etc. He had exhibitions in the U.S.A., Australia and in Japan, with a variety including prints, shaped canvases, photographs, and sumi-e, etc. His books are "Teaching, a doubtful profession" (1982 : Shincho-sha), "Heitaro's Night Swim--- a picture book" (1991 : Libroport). Died in Tokyo in April 1992.
