Japanese suffix "-ne" is also appear in Sinhala. Why?

Q14 The Japanese used to add suffix " -ne " for their colloquial speech as "kirei -ne ( beautiful ) " or " i-yi-ne ( good ) " and so on. And I find it that the Sinhalese also have suffix " -ne " such as "lassani-ne ( beautiful ) " or " hondha-yi-ne " in Sinhala language. Can it be same effect on the speech sentence?

Many Sinhalese use suffix "ne" to the ending of the speech of their Sinhala. It is the same suffix with Japanese. And both sufix make spoken languages soft.
For example, " beautiful " is " kirei " in Japanese ,but we the Japanese offen to say " kirei-ne ".
In Sinhala, they also say " lassanayi ", is meaning " beautiful ", and offen to say " lassanayi-ne ".

　Sinhala 　lassana-yi-ne　"lassanayi-ne"
You can recognize it as the adjective when a word of last syllable ending with " -i / -yi " in Jpanese ,and it is also same in Sinhala witch end the word with " -yi ". Then , after " -i / -yi " ,both words can have the suffix "ne" on colloqual speech. You can use this suffix not only adjectives but other words as nouns, verbs or so on.

The Japanese linguist Haruhiko Kindaichi says that the suffix " -ne " indicate " soft expression " in Japanese language.
Then, how about Sinhalese' " -ne " ?
Some say that Sinhalese " -ne " is the shortening style of " nae-ddha ? " means " is'nt that so ?" . We can find same Japanese spoken phrase as " kirei-ja-nai / -nai-ka ? "
This " -nai? " correspond to Sinhala " nae-ddha? " .In either negative expressions, it makes soft landing for their speech.

Please use " -ne " with Sinhalese pitch when you --if you are the Sinhalese--, speak Japanese with the Japanese. Placing suffix such as "-ne" is Sinhala way.
My first teacher of Sri Lanka cookery used to say in English " I don't know-no " as a way of speaking. This is the linguistic changes to " -no " from " -ne " in their Sinhala speeking manner. I brush up my English from her , so it also is my habit to say " my nane is Tomio-no " in English. This is not means " No ! ". This is the only the peculiarity of my soft speaking.
