9 social motive components
Cross cultural differences
The figures above are shown and explained in the theoretical paper:
|
-
IF-THEN method:
Derived 9 social motivations are based on the
theoretical structure analysis of the 2x2 payoff matrices (symmetrical, 2
person). The paper cited above describes the method, but all you do is to
use the program that processes your data.
IF-THEN Method, once programmed by FORTRAN and BASIC by T.Teraoka , Ph.D.,
has been converted into EXE file through VisualBasic (ver.6) by T.Kasai.
You can analyze your data and obtain the result at once at your desk by using
the program under Windows 95/98 environment.
-
Teraoka-Test:
Teraoka's (social motive) Test consists of 32
alternative questions. The instruction papers and the questionnaire have
been translated into 24 languages. If you carry out the questionnaire investigations
in your country and send the data to us, we can analyze your data and send
back the results to you for your research papers.
IF-THEN method renders the percentage of each motive component. Cross cultural
comparisons have yielded interesting results concerning the distribution
patterns of the 9 social motive components among several counties.
Please join the cross-cultural studies by accumulating your data on the
data base, and publish your reports about the characteristics of your subject
groups or your cultural regions.
