In the first full riding in mode, human driver sits on the lower floor of car, and looks outside from the observatory on the top of car.
In the second semi riding in mode, the driver sits on the higher floor with half top. It is very comfortable in comparison with the full riding in mode.
In the third outside riding on mode is the normal locomotive driving mode of sitting on the trailer.

The first and second photos show the railcar in ride on outside mode.
The last photo shows semi riding in mode.
There is no photo of full riding in mode because of no difference from the car with no driver.

Gyro monorail

I got this antique valuable tin toy of Gyro monorail manufactured by Lehmann about 100 years ago.
Exactly it must be called Gyro monowheel, because it has no balancing system so can not stand with two wheels on single rail.
Lehmann produced another Gyro car that has two wheels, but it is only a car that can not run on the rail.
It is considered that two wheel Gyro monorail was difficult to produce as a cheap and easy toy.
In this toy the rotor of Gyro is turned by clock work and run by a small wheel driven from rotor on single rail.
The same mechanism by electric motor was adopted the successful models of Gyro monowheel built by Mr. Inoue.

5inch Baldwin B1 rear tank
I am scratchbuilding 5inch gauge Baldwin 0-4-2 rear tank of Kiso logging Railway from September last year.

The detail parts around the cabin were built, such as handrail, steps, and wooden window frame.
The second photo is head light reflector built with kitchen spoon.

The first photo shows the rear view of cabin almost completed.
The second is slide valve of the engine, and the third is the engine with cylinder cover, cylinder cap and drain cocks.
Some part was painted black. I hope to complete the painting work before cold winter comes.

Short summer has gone

The green summer has gone, and we wait the red and yellow forest and fallen leaves carpet.

The summer is short, so it is felt very nice. And we hope this season for next year.

Next A&B report would be in January next year. We will be enjoying in cold winter with coal firing.
