Fine day in winter

We have had a mild winter. AB20's industrial train and Sapphire at work in fine day

Photo shows the tall water gauge in the corner of Sapphire's cab.

Yard and turntable in garage

I decided to change the track layout in the garage to solve insufficiency of yard for increasing locos.

Tracks set in all floor of the garage, so it became more difficult to walk for human.

This turntable is 1500mm diameter, and set in the place where there was a small R=1m endless track.

All members of A&B are on the rail every time.

Hunslet of 16mm scale

Hunslet locomotive under construction, this is a kit by Slater's Plastikard Ltd. in UK.

The kit is very nice designed and high accuracy worked.

I built as free drive loco, setting a battery in the boiler and a switch under the cab.

Painting red on saddle tank and cab fence, but it is still unfinished. To be continue for next A&B Report.

Reports from the others

Mr. Hoshino's 3.5inch Netta is near completion.

Mr. Sato driving his 5inch Kyosan, that is Japanese 2 feeter, in the infant school.

From UK

Mr. Hoshino visited in UK. First photo is Moors Valley Railway, and second is Garratt in Manchester Museum.

He bought old tin toys in UK for me. One is very old live steam in 1890, and the other is 0 gauge clockwork locomotive of Bassett-Lowke in 1955.

Snow day

9th Feb. was first and late snow day in this winter. The snow lay about 20cm.

A&B rotary snowplow turned out, but was stuck soon in the station.

My wife built snow Pascal. I thought that she is an artist.

Small steamer in the snow

Roundhouse Katie running on snow track in the west garden.

Water tower wore a white cap, and snowscape is wonderful.

Katie shows good performance and sounds nice.

Here are small movies of Katie running in 1 and 2 .

Large steamer in the snow

I drove Lady Madcap on the snow track, it was very rare experience for me.

New hand pump built in last month worked well, and the driving was very happy.

Here are small movies of Lady Madcap driving in 1 and 2 .

Starting of civil engineering

Construction was started in new 45mm gauge line for spring, putting soil on both sides of track.

Some ballast setting under the track for only decoration.

Double decker tram

This double decker is interior ornament. The 5inch trucks setting on the bottom.

5inch Shay will come soon!

5inch Michigan-California #2 Shay is near completion. and waiting for paint in Mr. Kiuchi's workshop.

The engine was built by Mr.Sato, and the other was by Mr. Kiuchi for me.

The air test was carried out and succeeded. This lovely loco will run in my garden soon!
Stationmaster at work
