PET SOUNDS OVERVIEW
30 years to the day Capitol Records is releasing a 4
CD set of sessions from arguably one of the
greatest records of all time PET SOUNDS. In the
words of Paul McCartney and Martin
"there would never have been a Sgt. Pepper's,
if it wasn't for PET SOUNDS." One of the
greatest albums of all time -- we may believe that,
the press may believe that and even members of
R.E.M., but the greatness of this album has not
translated into sales in the marketplace -- yet.
Therefore, our goal is to leverage the PET
SOUNDS album via the anniversary, the box set
and the album's rebirth into a top seller, so that
PET SOUNDS becomes one of a handful of
albums, that is an essential record in any one's
collection.
THE PET SOUNDS SESSIONS
The Box Set produced by Brian Wilson, will be the
companion set to the critically acclaimed and
platinum "Good Vibrations" Box Set. The set is
packaged in the same style box, however, it will be
finished in real linen material. Ihe contents
include:
The first ever true stereo mix of the album.
All of the symphonic instrumental backing tracks
without vocals.
All of the choral-like vocals without instrumental
backing tracks.
More than a dozen alternate versions of tracks from
the PET SOUNDS sessions.
New 1996 HDCD sound technology -- including
the original mono album and "Good Vibrations"
which was first recorded as part of these sessions.
A 42 page full color booklet -- featuring many rare
and unseen photos from the session.
A 120 page booklet featuring exclusive interviews
with The Beach Boys, Paul McCartney and George
Martin.
The box set is Produced by Brian Wilson. The
compilation is by Mark Linett and David Leaf --
the team behind The Beach Boys "Good
Vibrations" Box Set.
