My comments on today's video in class (E112) by KOBAYASHI Toshihiko (84123) Wednesday, July 16, 2003

I would like to write my comments on the videotape I saw in class today. I was really

impressed by the detailed analyses of the current situation in the peninsula and a lot of interviews by

distinguished speakers including former high ranking U.S. officials and specialists. Watching the whole

video, I was rather confused by so many factos I have to keep in mind to determine whether I should support

the exercises or not. However, I am strongly for [against] the U.S. military exercises for the

following three reasons.

First, the exercises will make residents feel uneasy in both sides of Koreas. XXXXXXXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Second, real peace cannot be achieved through arms. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Third, their action will simply increase tension in the area. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

In conclusion, the military exercises should be stopped immediately and make the peninsula disarmed

for both peoples. I believe .....XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
