六角板状の結晶をなしているオーストラリア産のミメット鉱です。Elura鉱山は、自然銀のほか、緑色をしたまるで緑鉛鉱のようなミメット鉱や黄色と緑のbi-colorのミメット鉱で有名な産地です。この標本では黄色というよりは白っぽくみえますが。 This mine has produced some of the most interesting mimetites in the world, but they're very scarce, and seldom appear on the market in the USA. This specimen sports hexagonal tabular mimetite crystals to 1.3cm, in clusters, with interpenetrant crystals. Some of the crystals, as you can see in the detail photo, have a partial coating of green, which I cannot identify.
