BACA
Ready to Ride!?
One of my friends sent me a nice cap?
which has a logo marks,?
"BACA".
Baca means "Stupid" or " Fuc.......!" in?Japanese.
But they say that BACA means?

"Biker Against Child Abuse".?

It represents me.
I appreciate their sense of humor.

This year I will drive and ride with my?daughter.
According to the weather report,?
it is extremely hot this summer.
I will have to wear this BACA cap with pride.

2006年07月30日

Venice Beach
We went to Venice Beach in LA.
My daughter said,
"There are many people, who are too unique for me to make friends with."
This is the real America itself.

Today's lesson:
Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never begin.

2006年07月31日

Sequoia National Park
We visited Sequoia National Park..
It has a lot of big old trees.
It looks like a foot stretched from the sky.
But its bark is softer than we thought.

Today's lesson
Great oaks from little acorns grow. To be biger is to be softer.

2006年07月31日

Classical Grocery Store
We went to Sequoia National Park.
On the way back to Fresno,
where it recorded the hottest summer at 120 F this summer, some people died of the heat.
We dropped in at a nice old grocery store.
This time we chose convertible car, so that we had sun burn.
My daughter looked at the top of my head and said,
"Dad, you have suntan even on your head"

Today's lesson:
When I was young, I admired clever people. Now that I am old, I admire kind people.

2006年08月01日

Yosemite National Park
We visited Yosemite National Park.
This park is so beautiful that many people come.
We could see this panorama view without hard trail.

Time to kick on out of the town!

2006年08月01日

Yosemite National Park
Yosemite has many aspects.
Mountains are high and steep.
Water is cool and clear.
Grass is soft and tender.
We stopped the engine and sat still for some time.

The beauty of Mother Nature always lifts my spirits.

2006年08月01日

Skull Face?
We have still had jet lag.
That's why we bought beef jerky and ate some in the car.
After a few minutes, we could overhear the voice, which said,
"Did you eat beef jerky lately?"
When we look out of the car window, we realize some cow's faces were like skulls.

The loneliest road in America
Have you ever heard of "The loneliest road in America"?
It was the road for pony express ride.
From town to town, there is nothing but the road.
But I was filled with adventurous feelings like Pony Express Riders.

Today's lesson:
We may affirm absolutely that nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion.

2006年08月02日

Hotel Nevada
Each town has historical houses and buildings.
This road passes through mines around here.
I'm sure it is the way to develop this country.

Today's lesson:
We will either find a way, or make one.

2006年08月02日

The loneliest road in America
We could find a strange tree.
It bears a lot of fruits made of shoes!
Maybe someone tried hanging shoes on the branches just for fun.
We got off the car, took pictures and inhaled a little bit bad smell.
It made us drive safer.
We felt we are not alone.

Today's lesson:
The most horrible disease in the world is loneliness.

2006年08月02日

The loneliest road in America
All day long. we drove "The loneliest road in America".
After the sun goes down, we could not see anything.
Sometimes we saw a light, but we could not realize whether it was a car or a train or message from outer space or something else.
But on the next seat the most impoprtant person I have.

Today's lesson:
No man or woman is an island.

2006年08月03日

Interstate 70
This is the Interstate High Way 70.
18 wheelers and many cars have passed at their full speed.
I was surprised at this scale.
Unknown, unbelievable world we have on our earth.

Today's lesson:
It's a miracle to meet you in this wide world.

2006年08月03日

Arches National Park
We visited Arches National Park and tried some trails.
It was not easy to reach this Delicate Arch but it was worth walking.
When I got to the goal, I got some inspiration from this point.
Here is more mysterious place than we have seen it by photos.
Do you know there is a big hole next to this arch.
It looks like a colosseum.

Today's lesson:
Terminus is the boundary the final and beginning of something.

2006年08月03日

Arches National Park
We tried another trail. On the trail, my daughter was cheered and encouraged by other visitors,
"Are you OK?"
"Keep going!"
She was almost exhausted. She realized a word from other persons made her strong.
At last she made it.
We got to the Landscape Arch.

Today's lesson:
Step-by-step is the true goal of our final scene in the picture of life.

2006年08月03日

Canyon Lands National Park
We visited Canyon Lands National Park.
When we stood on the edge of this cliff, we felt the beginning of our earth.
Winds have blown these millions of years.
We could hear the song of earth.
We live on this mother earth, we must be harmony with others.

2006年08月04日

Natural Bridge National Park
We visited Natural Bridge National Park.
In this area there are many arches and bridges.
Do you know the definition about arch and bridge?
Bridge has a river under it.
Arch doesn't.

2006年08月04日

Valley of Gods
We visited Valley of Gods.
My daughter sat the seat of our car like a MBL player at the winning parade.
She said, " It has fun. This is like one of the Disneyland attractions.

Today's lesson:
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.

2006年08月04日

Grand Canyon National Park
We visited Grand Canyon National Park.
My daughter not only sees the canyon but also feels the wind from the canyon.

Today's lesson:
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.

2006年08月04日

Grand Canyon National Park
Do you know when the sky is brilliant red?
The moment the sun has just set.
I like to see sunrise and sunset around this area.
Because the sun becomes easily beautiful red.
That's why we waited until the sun has completely sunk.
We were all alone at this view point.
But we saw a beautiful sunset at Grand Canyon National Park.
It was full of message.
I don't know why but I felt "All men who have achieved great things have been great dreamers."

2006年08月05日

WIGWAN MOTEL
I got lost on the way to Petrified National Park.
We happened to find a motel, where it has an old car and a teepee style room. It reminds me of good old days.

Today's lesson:
Unexpected route gives us unexpected surprise.

2006年08月05日

Petrified National Park
We visited Petrified National Park.
We saw red, blue, purple ... colorful sands.
How has this land been developed?
Millions of years must have passed.

Today' lesson:
I cannot afford to waste my time making money.

2006年08月18日

Route 66
This is the symbol of route 66. You can see there is no wire on these electric poles.

2006年08月06日

Two Up
From today, we ride a Harley two up.
As for me, I prefer Harley to Mustang.
This is the first time for my daughter to get on a bike.
I worried about her mental condition as well as physical one.
She is OK!

Today's lesson:
The apple never falls far from the tree.

2006年08月06日

Two Up
Soon my daughter got used to sitting on the back seat. She has a harder butt than I imagined.
She enjoyed the streem of the wind and the vibration of Harley.

I can feel her fingers' touch on the back.
This soft touch is the heaviest responsibility for me.
I realize it is my love itself.

2006年08月06日

Two Up
When we are riding a Harley, we can feel more nature surrouding us.
Each time we find a beautiful view, we stop and have a short rest.
We find something new.

Today's lesson:
The cure for boredom is curiosity.

2006年08月07日

Bryce Canyon National Park
We visited Bryce Canyon National Park.
I got up early and saw sunrise.
As the sun light comes, the towers begin to twinkle.
I can get up early to see sunrise, but my daughter is between sheets.

Today's lesson:
As we get older, we come to realize how important each moment is.

2006年08月07日

Bryce Canyon National Park
When we were standing the rim of the cliff, we could hear the winds streeming among these towers. How has the elements made this landscapes?

2006年08月07日

Ride with Kids
These three guys were coming from Washington D.C. with their sons.
We made friends easily.

Today's lesson:
If you want your children to turn out well, spend twice as much time with them, and half as much money on them.

2006年08月07日

Hail !
We had a sudden shower. First I thought it was rain, but I realized it was hail.

2006年08月07日

Flood !
Soon after rain and hail stopped, dried river, they call "wash",  was full of water.
Suddenly some bridges were covered with water.

2006年08月07日

Meadow
Soon after black clouds have gone, we've had another fine day. This road is winding along a creek through a beautiful meadow. I can feel the comfortable rhythm of the nature.

2006年08月07日

Zion National Park
We visited Zion National Park.
Zion is manly hard solid rock formations.

2006年08月08日

Zion National Park
We stopped and took photos. First I took a picture of Harley, but I realize photoes with my daughter were more emotional. They express our feelings better. She is waiting for me to take pictures. She has good patience.

Today's lesson:
I'm not 47 …I'm 18 with 29 years of experience.

2006年08月08日

Zion National Park
This national park has many good trails. You need good shoes and good health. This is the famous switch back at Zion.

2006年08月08日

Lake Powell
We visited Lake Powell. Here is an artificial lake. Many boats are on the lake. This water is important for people around here to get energy power and tourism as well as water itself.

2006年08月08日

Lake Powell
If we join the rainbow bridge tour, it'll cost us 300 dollar. This is one day boat tour. I asked my daughter what we should do. She said, "I prefer a Harley to a cruiser boat." I was glad to hear that. We decided to ride around this area.

2006年08月09日

Horse Shoe
We visited Horse Shoe. It was more difficult to see this view than we thought. We had to take a long sandy trail.

2006年08月09日

Antelope Canyon
We visited Antelope Canyon.
It was cloudy and we didn't have plenty of sun light. Once we stepped in the crack of a wash, we were like walking into a maze.  We were left behind by our tour guide and we were alone. But we found a beautiful formation. It looks like a Venus.

2006年08月09日

Monument Valley
We managed to arrive at Monument Valley.
Here is the special place for riders.

2006年08月09日

Monument Valley
We spent some time riding through Monument Valley.
We waited for sun to set.

2006年08月09日

Monument Valley
We were waiting for sun to set.  We feel the streams of the winds. This moment is precious for us.

2006年08月09日

Monument Valley
We saw sunset at Monument Valley.
We spent some time watching sunset.
A few riders passed by with their hands waving.

2006年08月10日

Monument Valley
I got up early and saw sunrise at Monument Valley.
It gives me power to live long and stay young.

2006年08月10日

Monument Valley
Here is famous for Western movies.
I know why the great director, John Ford, love this place.
Cars go down to the road but Harley couldn't.
We envy them a little.

2006年08月10日

Monument Valley in the mirror
We wanted to stay longer but we had to leave for Hopi reservation. Nobody knows where it is and how to get there.

2006年08月10日

Rest
On the way to Hopi reservation, we had to have some rests.
Too hot to ride.

2006年08月10日

Hopi Reservation
When someone was mistaken for a Hopi, it would be proud of.
I have read that kind of thing in a book.
I am interested in their culture.
We visited Hopi musium.

2006年08月10日

Hopi Culture
Hopi people have imaginative ability. Their dall, rings and crafts are unique and sophisticated.

2006年08月10日

Grand Canyon National Park
We visited Grand Canyon again.
This time we ride. not drive.
Every time we come here, Grand Canyon shows us different faces.

2006年08月10日

Grand Canyon National Park
We feel Grand Canyon itself sparkling. I like this misterious atomospher. It is as if an angel would come down from the Heaven.

2006年08月11日

Grand Canyon National Park
I got up early and saw sunrise at Grand Cayon.
I recommend you to get up early.

Today's lesson:
To keep early time is good for your health.

2006年08月11日

Rainning, Sand Storimg, Lightening
We had bad weather. We had to ride through the curtain of the rain.

2006年08月11日

Rainning, Sand Storimg, Lightening
Our plan to ride today is just going from south rime of Grand Canyon to the North Rim.
But it was difficult to reach there because of bad weather condition.
As soon as we rode, we had rain, and sand storm, lightening.
We had to take shelters frequently.
But they were the best place to make new Harley friends.
Doug and Wendy were from Canada.
They are nice. Someday I want to ride in Canada with them.

Today's lesson:
In the middle of difficulty, lies opportunity.

2006年08月11日

Hard rain
When we rode, suddenly we couldn't see ahead of us.
We managed to stop and escaped the shade of a deserted gas station.

Today's lesson:
One hand washes the other. Keep your chin up!

2006年08月11日

Navajo Store
Due to the bad weather condition, most Navajo stores were closed.
They turned to be the best place to hide.
30 minutes on the road, 30 minutes in the shelter.

Today's lesson:
Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs.

2006年08月11日

Another party
At one of Navajo Store, there was another party from North Carolina.
They welcomed us.
They are nice and kind.
Next day we met again. They told us that they were worried about us.
That's why I love Harley friends.

Today's lesson:
Tell me what company you keep, and I'll tell you what you are.

2006年08月11日

Grand Canyon North Rim
Before Grand Canyon North Rim, we rode through the forest fire remains.
No rain but cold.
We were almost frozen to death.

Today's lesson:
Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

2006年08月12日

Grand Canyon North Rim
We are survived.
When we managed to arrve at the Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge, a beautiful color of the forest welcomed us. To tell the truth, if we use bus tour, it is easy to get here. But this time we spent a lot of time riding in the rain and storm. Now I felt this sunset made me warm at heart. I can feel I am alive now.

Today's lesson:
Life is not a round-trip ticket. As you depart, you have to keep on going.

2006年08月13日

Grand Canyon North Rim
I prefer North rim because not so much commercialized here.
Yesterday we had a hard day. Today we can feel more comfortable under the sun.

2006年08月13日

Grand Canyon North Rim
We can see the rocks and meadows here.
I wanted to stay longer but I had to return our rental bike.
I tried nonstop riding from here to Las Vegas.

Today's lesson:
An eagle soars alone.

2006年08月13日

On the way to Las Vegas
I tried to ride stright to Las Vegas.
I forgot to turn left at Freedoman. I rode around Zion area again.
Non stop Zion touring is exciting too much.

2006年08月14日

Las Vegas
We rode two up 1400 miles.
We got to Las Vegas and returned a rental Harley.
I don’t know whether my daughter will ride a Harley in the future but I realize she has good tough butt.
She didn’t complain about her rear seat during this adventure.
I appreciate her persistence.

Today's lesson:
Open Your Eyes With Great Journeys

2006年08月14日

Bill & Jeanet
We spent one night at Bill and Jeanet home. We could meet my American family, Earl and Nancy, Earl and Noreen family, "Sukebe"Tony. I am glad to see them and see their smiles. My daughter wants to study abroad now. Maybe I will have to work harder for her educational fee, but I am happy.
