The master of winter skies, searching the constellation should be no problem.
It includes two stars with over first magnitude, the Orion's belt that consists of three stars with second magnitude,
and the most splendid celestial object of the Great Orion Nebula, etc.
He lords over the heavens from late fall. Alpha Ori, Betelgeuse is positioned at the right arm of Orion glows with a dull red. The star is singular in the constellation because almost all members in Orion include Rigel, beta Ori, are emitting the bluish light. They were born in the Great Orion Nebula a few millions years ago and have spread to present positions. Betelgeuse has no relation with these brothers. Around the celestial field of Orion includes gigantic hydrogen clouds, and the field is called the "Orion Association". |
