vdB38 / Diffused & Reflection Nebula, type 2 R R.A. 05h 21m 30.0s (2000.0) Dec. +08° 25' 00" (2000.0) Apparent Size about 15' Real Size 10 light yrs. Magnitude - Distance 1300 light yrs. Other IDs CED44, Sh2-263 LBN866, 867 vdB38 is a small sized diffused and reflection nebula at 2.2 degrees NNW of gamma Ori (Bellatrix). The nebula has a size of about 15 arc minutes and is emitting by a central star with 5.7th magnitude. You can find the nebula out at the southwest edge of Angel Fish Nebula, vdB38 can be taken simultaneously in Angel Fish photograph.
