About this
novel
Could you imagine ? You be a
"Bushi(Samurai)" who does NOT care for welfare nor fame, but who puts all his
energy upon living for "Gi"(See the word explanation in the
bottom) 400 years ago. Would you return to that time
?
Bushi in Sengoku era(14-16th Century) would not mind on "company's interest" nor "small happiness in a family". They worked for their "House" and "Name(Honor)", without any care for their own lives. Their Master of House is strongly related to their future and lives.
Returning to such hot time.
In the novel, you are a strong Sumurai, serving for historically famous Maeda keijiro, a legend of the Sengoku era. You are also the Ko-Bushi(Old-time Bushi) who fights with no mercy to your enemy.
Imagine that you are not alone. If a beautiful young servant is always with you. He would be fighting behind you in battlefields and he would give you his whole life....it must be the one who came from Heaven to you. It has a look of Kouhukuji's Ashura. Beautiful look and Ashura's mind....
Contents:(Sorry all are in Japanese right now)
Chapter 1 Ashura Kourin(Ashura Comes Down)
Chapter 2 Ashura Ten ni Kaerazu(Ashura remained to this world)
Chapter 3 Ashura Michi Chou Chou (Ashura on a long road)
Chapter 4 Title to be determined later
The story starts with the scene that Rin visits Kouhukuji and meets Ashura statue. At that night, the monk soldiers from Renge-Ouin in Kyoto(anyone knows it as "33-gen-do") assaulted Kouhukuji to steal the Ashura statue. They have a wooden Ashura statue but it is a look of Anger. Rin fights with them to protect Ashura statue like living Ashura.
I mailed to Kouhukuji to ask if I write such a story. The response was that it would not be realistic but the story could be interesting. Thanks.
Also Zenkitsu Osho whom Togou Sigetaka leaned the art of swords from makes his presence. His temple, Tenneiji in Kyoto is famous as Gakubichi-dera. Togou started Jigen-ryu after returnning to Kyushu.
List of persons who show up in the novel and existed. (still being updated)
Remommended sites (My favorite sites but still a few)
Vol 1's Cover picture(part)-Image of Rin as Ashura
Ashura is presented with Sun and Moon on his top hands.
I imagine that the Ashura at Kohukuji had Sun and Moon.
Kohukuji's Ashura is the most beautiful look among Ashura statues.

Explanation of Words
Gi : "Gi" is the concept you would live or die for. Especially you will not care about your own death to work for someone. Man of "Gi" does not work for fame nor money, just for his trust. Sometimes it is used for gangsters' relationship.
Bushi : Means Fighting Samurai. Samurai is not so clear word to describe Japanese soldiers in Sengoku and Edo eras. Bushi is a clearer word showing their pride and proffesion. But Bushi was as Bushi only in Sengoku era and Bakumatsu age since in peaceful time, they have to serve as salaryman like today. No need for skill to kill. Edo gavernment by Bushi had an internal difficulty in nature to rule the economy with marchant class, farmer class and others, but to our surprise, Edo era continued for 300 years with such problems.
