PlayingAlbums for iOS
New and Enhanced Features
- Improved accuracy in synchronizing playlists and the next song to be played between owned devices.
- Implemented a mode of playing within the application without using the system standard music (information is not shared with the system), which was requested by users.
- Improved interface.
- The macOS and iPad versions, which allow for album-specific settings, are currently under development and cannot be updated at this time. Information set in previous versions will continue to be available as long as the data has not been deleted, for example by using iCloud.
Introduction
If you love music albums, you will listen to an album, then another album, then another...... All your songs or songs in the selected playlist will be shuffled by album.
Songs in the selected playlist will play on devices that use iTunes Match or Apple Music, even if they are not downloaded on the device, as long as they are online. Playlists shuffled by albums can be shared with your own devices via iCloud. If you do not use either iTunes Match or Apple Music, the order of songs will be synchronized as long as playlists are synchronized between your devices.
If you are a user of PlayingAlbums for macOS, you will share its settings for PlayingAlbums for iPhone. You may not want to listen to songs serially of an album with multiple discs. Disc 2 is sometimes completely different from disc 1.
By default, the playing information (playback counts, etc.) will be integrated since PlayingAlbums uses the same player as the standard “Music” app. If you would not like to integrate the information, a new mode has been implemented that does not use the same player as the standard “Music” app.
Limitations
Advertisements by a third party will be shown.
The macOS version, which allows detailed settings for each album, and the iPad version are still under development, so new settings are not available. Settings created in older versions are still available.
How to Use
At the launch of the app or sometimes, this app analyzes your music library. It may take a while, if you have a number of songs.
After analyzing, you just select a playlist or "All songs" for choosing songs you want to play. You are ready to play music.
A shuffled playlist is shown. You can also jump to a song which you want to listen to.
The app will record the last played song. The app cannot record it when the app goes to the background. It needs to active PlayingAlbums for recording the last played song.
You can choose to play with the system's standard "Music" application or use an independent player within the application. You can also choose a syncronization mode between your own devices. There is a mode to synchronize the next song to listen to, and a mode to synchronize only playlists. The settings can be changed from the playlist list screen.
