Notes
Released in June '94 (July in Japan), Eddi Reader is her second and her first album from Blanco Y Negro. In Japan, this was titled as "Angel's Sigh" because Mirmama was already released with the same title as this album. This is the first album Boo Hewerdine and Teddy Borowiecki, both being the important partners to Eddi now, took part in.
With the promotion she deserves, it debuted at number four in UK albums chart and is her most commercial success to date. Eddi won Best Female Singer at Brits Awards the following year for this album.
The sound is catchy and some songs, especially The Right Place and The Exception by Mark E. Nevin - his first ever co-work with Eddi after Fairground Attraction's breakup - will make you recall Fairground Attraction. Arranged stylistically, some may feel it's not with the acoustic feel Eddi's other albums possess. But this was intentional. Eddi tried to redefine "Eddi Reader" sound many people will recognize.
This is a landmark album in many senses.
