I was Registered Management Consultant(RMC). In Japanese, the RMC is called Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultant(SMEC).
A major way to obtain SMEC qualification is to pass the examination and practice test held by J-SMECA (Japan Small and Medium Enterprise Consultants Association), nominated by the minister of METI(Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry).
Details of SMEC examinations are divided in 3 stages, the first examination, the 2nd examination and the practice test.
To judge knowledge required as SMEC (basic knowledge on business management), by a written examination on 7 subjects.
The 7 subjects are as follows:
Applicants passed the first examination are judged in terms of professional applied abilities (including creative abilities) on management consulting required as SMEC, by a written examination on 4 subjects and an oral examination.
Applicants succeeded in the 2nd examination take a seminar consisting of class room learning and field consulting (on 2 companies) and their practical consulting abilities are judged.
