poetry

Playing with words. In Victorian times, when medicine was not as advanced, many people feared being buried alive, so they would have a bell attached the coffin so they could ring if they suddenly woke.

Sweet love abide (1995)

inter inter the ground
sweet family
live in rest
small spots of brown earth
my mind sweet earth
inviting ground
no grounds for rest and
rest my love.

lower my friends ashes to
ashes lust to lust
she sleeps in rest 'neath
a ground so sweet.

no bell i hear come running here
i run my love has not rung
the bells remains silent and
rusting
amid the earth soft brown sweet
love no bells today.

she lay upon a board soft and
harsh a bed so dearly
obvious
i will not cry my love ring some bell
haunted spirit keep
some self for me.

my love so sweet
oh earth so sweet
pray keep her soul
until i to meet.
