オフィシャルライブ盤の収録日とは数多くある Eric Clapto のオフィシャルライブ音源。ジャケットやライナーノーツにそれぞれ演奏した曲の収録日がクレジットされているとは限りません。ここではクレジットのないものもすべての曲の収録日を明らかにするものです。 December, 1979としかクレジットされていない「Just One Night」は1日のコンサートからの収録と思われがちですが、これは2日連続での2度のコンサートからピックアップ編集されたものです。また、数は少ないですが短く編集されている曲や2テイクを編集合体させた曲もあります。それらも明らかにしたいと思います。全曲クレジット通りのものや特筆すべき情報のないものは、ここでは取り上げていません。

「 24 Nights : Rock 」 1991年発売の「24 Nights」が32年の歳月を経て拡大版「THE DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS」として発表された。収録日のクレジットがなかったので、調べてみた。まずは「24 Nights : Rock」から 01.　Pretending　（ 9 piece band ) 1991年版「24 Nights」では前半と後半では収録日が違っていた。合体版。前半は1991年2月18日、後半は同2月15日。ただし映像版では2月18日だけのバージョン。今回「THE DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS」では2月18日だけのバージョンに差し替えられている。映像版は変わらず2月18日にもの。 ※1991年の 9 piece band では2月17日のサウンドボード音源が出回っているがこの日からオフィシャル版に採用されたものはない。 02.　Running on Faith　（ 4 piece band ) 変わらず1990年1月24日のバージョン。 ※この1990年1月24日のライブは1990年イギリスBBCでテレビ放映およびラジオオンエアされたことがある。 03.　Breaking Point　（ 13 piece band ) 初収録で1990年2月1日のバージョン。なぜかラッパ隊の4人のメンバークレジットがない。イントロ部分が一部カット編集されている。 04.　I Shot the Sheriff　（ 4 piece band ) 1991年版発売の「Wonderful Tonight Collectors Edition CD Single」に収録されていたのは 1991年2月18日の 9 piece band バージョン。「THE DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS」では1991年の 4 piece band バージョンに差し替えられている。 1991年2月5日、6日、7日のうちのいずれかから収録。 05　White Room　（ 4 piece band ) 変わらず1990年1月24日のバージョン。 06.　Can’t Find My Way Home　（ 9 piece band ) 初収録で1991年2月18日のバージョン。ヴォーカルは Nathan East。 07.　Bad Love　（ 9 piece band ) 変わらず1991年2月18日バージョン。 08.　Before You Accuse Me　（ 13 piece band ) 初収録で1990年2月1日のバージョン。 09.　Lay Down Sally　（ 4 piece band ) 初収録で1990年1月24日のバージョン。 10.　Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door　（ 4 piece band ) 初収録で1991年2月5日、6日、7日のうちのいずれかのバージョン。 11.　Old Love　（ 4 piece band ) 1991年版「24 Nights」では 9 piece band 1991年2月19日のものが採用。ただし映像版は2月18日のもの。今回「THE DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS」では1990年1月24日の 4 piece band バージョンに差し替えられている。 12.　No Alibis　（ 9 piece band ) 1991年版発売の「Wonderful Tonight Collectors Edition CD Single」に収録されていたのは 1991年2月18日のバージョン。「THE DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS」では1991年の2月15日のバージョンに差し替えられている。 ※映像版も同日のものだが謎が残る。bootで聞くと確かに2月15日のものなのだが今回の映像版の 9 piece band は全て2月18日収録のもの。この曲のみが2月15日収録と思われるがメンバーの衣装等は2月18日と同一。！？ 13.　Tearing Us Apart　（ 13 piece band ) 初収録で1990年2月1日のバージョン。 ※1990年にイギリスBBCでテレビ放映されたことがある。この時は 13 piece band ではこの曲のほか、Bad Love も放映された。 14.　Cocaine　（ 13 piece band ) 1991年版発売の「Wonderful Tonight Five Inchi CD Single」に収録されていたのは 1991年2月19日の 9 piece band バージョン。今回は1990年2月1日の 13 piece band バージョンに差し替えられている。前半のバンドメンバー紹介部分はカット編集されている。 ※1991年版「24 Nights」は当初、1990年のロイヤルアルバートホール18公演の中から選曲し発売される予定だった。ところが Eric Clapton 本人が、1990年の 13 piece band でのパフォーマンスがお気に召さなかったらしく、 1年待って1991年のロイヤルアルバートホール24公演での 13 piece band からブラス隊4人を除いた 9 piece band の中から選曲したという経緯があるが、今回はこの 13 piece band から4曲も収録されている。 15.　Wonderful Tonigh　（ 9 piece band ) さて、これが難解。 1991年版「24 Nights」では1991年2月14日のバージョンが収録されている。ただし映像版では2月18日のもの。今回「THE DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS」では2月15日のものに差し替えられている。オフィシャルアナウンスでは未発表音源になっていないが実は未発表音源。今回の映像版は変わらず2月18日のもの。すなわち3バージョンが存在する。さらに「Wonderful Tonight Collectors Edition CD Single」「Wonderful Tonight Five Inchi CD Single」では2月14日の前奏部分をカットしたバージョンが収録されている。 16.　Layla　（ 9 piece band ) 1991年版発売の「Wonderful Tonight Five Inchi CD Single」に収録されていたのはオープニングのオーケストラ演奏のテープなので、演奏しているものとしては初収録。 1991年2月18日のもの。前衛となる Remark You Made 部分はカットされている。 17,　Crossroads　（ 9 piece band ) 初収録で1991年2月18日のバージョン。 18.　Sunshine of Your Love　（ 9 piece band ) 1991年版「24 Nights」では1990年1月24日の 4 piece band バージョンが収録されていたが、今回差し替えられて、1991年2月18日の 9 piece band のものが採用されている。後半のドラム＆パーカッションソロがショートカット編集されている。なお、1991年版「24 Nights」に収録されていた1991年2月10日の 4 piece band による「 Badge 」は今回収録されていません。聴き比べてみると1991年のヴォーカルはかなりオリジナルから崩して歌っている。また演奏面では1990年のものは構成もしっかりとしたやや長めの丁寧なソロが多いのに対して、1991年のソロはダイナミックではあるがやや荒さを感じる。テンポも異なり、Old Loveでは顕著な違いがあり、1991年ではゆったりで前奏部分も異なる。 Sunshine of Your Love や White Roomでは逆にテンポが速くなっている。 Before You Accuse Me や Old Love では曲の展開も違っているのが面白い。もちろん演奏曲目も違っている。1990年では Breaking Point , Lay Down Sally , Tearing Us Apart を演奏しているが、1991年では演奏されず反対に Badge がセットリスト入りしている。メンバーも一部変更。 ※まだ聴き込んだわけではないので勘違いや間違い、その他編集カット部分に気が付かずなどということがあるかもしれません。
